Brands & Licences

Bruck is proud to be the only authorized Australian fabric mill to manufacture textiles using the following brands:

PROBAN®

Bruck is the only Australasian licenced manufacturer of PROBAN® flame retardant protective fabrics. The PROBAN® brand and process is owned by Rhodia, one of the world’s leading specialty chemical companies.

PROBAN® is only sold via Rhodias’ appointed licensees. Licences have been carefully selected based mainly on their ability to finish PROBAN® fabrics to the highest level of quality. To obtain a licence, textile manufacturers must demonstrate they have the necessary technical skills and equipment. On becoming a licencee Rhodia supplies training and ongoing technical support.

PROBAN® fabrics are produced to the highest quality standards by selected Rhodia licensees’. On every PROBAN® production run, Rhodia licencees must submit samples to Rhodia for wash and flammability testing. Durability washing under laboratory test and industrial wash conditions shows that the fabric’s flame retardant properties will last for the expected life of the garment, as long as specified conditions are followed. Garment manufactures are required to implement tracking procedures for each batch of fabric used in the various garments.

Bruck’s PROBAN® fabric range includes 100% cotton, 88%cotton/12%HT nylon and cotton/polyester blends for garments suitable in wild land fire fighting, defence, oil and gas industries, anywhere fire retardant protection is a necessity.

NOMEX®

Bruck is the only weaver in Australia that manufactures fabric using NOMEX® brand fibre which is a Dupont registered trademark.

NOMEX® is a revolutionary, heat and flame resistant fiber that provides protection to millions of people worldwide. Firefighters and emergency personnel around the world have relied on flame resistant turnout gear, Emergency Services wear, Stationwear and accessories made of NOMEX® brand fibres for over 40 years.

Australia is a land of diverse terrain and temperature, the inclusion of the NOMEX® range expands Bruck’s extensive range of high performance fabrics to suit this diversity.

Bruck offers high performance fabrics utilising aramid and para-aramid fibres to meet protective and safety requirements for workers in the Emergency Services, Energy and Molten Metal Splash industries.

PBI®

Bruck is the only approved weaver in Australia that manufactures fabric using PBI® which is an inherently flame-resistant and thermally stable fibre.

PBI® (polybenzimidazole) stable fibre is an organic fibre that provides thermal stability for a wide range of high temperature applications. PBI® fibre will not burn in air, it does not melt or drip and it will retain its strength and flexibility after exposure to flame.

Bruck offers a range called Melba ENFORCER® that is made from a blend of PBI® fibre and Kevlar®. This blend is recognised worldwide as a leader in outer shell technology.

PR97®

PR97® is a registered trademark of Bruck and has been specifically designed for use as secondary or “everyday-all day” protective workwear.

PR97® is an inherently flame retardant that offers “built in” protection that cannot be laundered out. This range offers outstanding splash protection against molten aluminium cryolite, iron, steel, copper, magnesium and nickel.

PR97®, with its blend of natural fibres and innovative construction, has the ability to effectively wick sweat and vapour away from the skin facilitating the cooling process. In the absence of any chemical FR treatments the fabric has the ability to breathe, allowing air to circulate freely without jeopardising the protective integrity of the garment.

By specifying PR97® you are providing your molten operatives with a product that offers the highest standards of health and safety in secondary protective workwear. Since its launch in 1997, PR97® has successfully provided over 50 million man days of life and burn protection in some of the most demanding work environments in the world.

PR97® is the standard by which all other protective fabrics are judged. Our dominant position in the world’s most dangerous areas of the smelter environment is testimony to the long term protective qualities and superb wearer comfort that PR97 provides.

XP Merino™

XP Merino™ (Xtreme Protection) is a registered trademark of Bruck and has been developed from a blend of Merino fibre combined with Lenzing FR Viscose fibre. Garments provide excellent permanent protection against a range of workplace hazards, while performing to a high standard.

XP Merino™ garments are designed to be worn all day everyday as part of a practical company uniform. These fabrics are ideal for industrial and hazardous sites where there is potential exposure to hazards such as hot metal, heat, electricity, flame or fire. In many instances, the required protection against these hazards can be provided by an XP Merino™ garment, eliminating the need for changing or adding garments for extra protection.

From the managers to shop floor employees the level of workplace safety can be improved without the need for additional specialist clothing.
