Bruck is the only Australasian licensed manufacturer of PROBAN® flame retardant protective fabrics. The PROBAN® brand and process is owned by Rhodia, one of the world’s leading specialty chemical companies.
PROBAN® is only sold via Rhodias’ appointed licensees. Licensees have been carefully selected based mainly on their ability to finish PROBAN® fabrics to the highest level of quality. To obtain a license, textile manufacturers must demonstrate they have the necessary technical skills and equipment. On becoming a licensee Rhodia supplies training and ongoing technical support.
PROBAN® fabrics are produced to the highest quality standards by selected Rhodia licensees’. On every PROBAN® production run, Rhodia licensees must submit samples to Rhodia for wash and flammability testing. Durability washing under laboratory test and industrial wash conditions shows that the fabric’s flame retardant properties will last for the expected life of the garment, as long as specified conditions are followed. Garment manufactures are required to implement tracking procedures for each batch of fabric used in the various garments.
Bruck’s PROBAN® fabric range includes 100% cotton, 88%cotton/12%HT nylon and cotton/polyester blends for garments suitable in wild land fire fighting, defence, oil and gas industries, anywhere fire retardant protection is a necessity.
The Bruck ENDURANCE PROBAN® fabric range has been engineered, tried and tested utilising PROBAN® durable flame retardant technology combining Cotton 88% with High Tenacity Nylon 12% .
The PROBAN® process ensures the fabrics are guaranteed for flame resistance for the life of the garment, provided recommended wet laundering or dry cleaning procedures are followed, with the advantage of natural cotton to enhance comfort and HT nylon to improve abrasion performance and enhance protection.
The resulting fabrics deliver garments with excellent resistance to mechanical damage. This makes Bruck ENDURANCE PROBAN® fabrics ideal for protective performance against a range of workplace hazards such as arc flash, flash fire, molten ferrous metal splash and exposure to welding and an excellent choice for the riggers of wildland firefighting. Bruck ENDURANCE PROBAN® meets certification NFPA 70E and AS/NZS 4824-2006.
